PRIVACY POLICY - PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS CIC

This is the Privacy Policy for Pursuit of Happiness CIC. We are a registered in the United Kingdom, as a Community Interest Company, CIC Registration Number - 12952624.

Our registered business address is: 38 Spring Street, Springwood, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

We founded Pursuit of Happiness CIC in October 2020. We aim to identify critical issues and work towards tangible and generational change that will significantly benefit our Black community. A constructive working relationship between Authorities/Statutory Bodies and the Black community is paramount, with them being directly involved when decisions are being made concerning them. We will be assisting with developing grassroots initiatives to increase equality, diversity and inclusion, with ourselves being the bridge directly into the heart of the community.

Systemic and institutional racism along with oppression among other areas of racial injustices, is and has always been prevalent in the UK regarding our Black/Brown African Caribbean residents.


1. Purpose of the Policy
1.1. In this Privacy Policy, we’ve provided detailed information on when and why we collect, process, store, use and keep secure the information we hold about you.
1.2. We take seriously the protection of your privacy and confidentiality and we understand that you are entitled to know that your personal data will not be used for any unintended purpose and will not accidentally fall into the hands of a third party.
1.3. We undertake to preserve the confidentiality of all information you provide to us.
1.4. Our policy complies with UK law accordingly implemented, including that required by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. The basis on which we process information about you
2.1. The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is your consent and/or any other applicable legal basis, such as our legitimate interest in engaging in our programmes.
2.2. Any consent you provide may be withdrawn at any time by unsubscribing to our mailing list or contacting us at info@pursuitofhappiness.org.uk


3. Data we collect and its purpose
3.1. We take your privacy seriously and will only use your personal information for our internal record keeping and to:
· send you our monthly newsletter
· share with you the information about our events and opportunities
· get your feedback on our events we have organised
· inform you about other opportunities that our partners provide and you might be interested in participating in and/or applying for

You might provide us with your contact information, whether through use of a newsletter sign up form on our website, an interaction with our team member, by attending one of our weekly events or via surveys.

3.3 We will hold your personal information for as long as you give us your consent to do so. If you ask for your personal information to be deleted we will manage your request in a transparent and efficient way.


4. Data Shared and Third Parties
4.1. Inhouse
a. As part of the registration process for our monthly newsletter, we at Pursuit of Happiness CIC collect your/company name and email address.
b. We use that information to contact you if we need send additional information, to send you additional information about events/opportunities we and/or our partners provide and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We do not rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe option at the bottom of any of our emails.


4.2. Site 123
a. Our website is hosted by Site 123. Site 123 uses analytics tools to help us measure traffic and usage trends for our site. This way we find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site.
